Among the oldest hotels in central New York, the Lake House provides access to the attractions in the Cooperstown area and to the natural beauty of the Leatherstocking Region’s countryside. Built in 1843, today the Lake House includes a restaurant and lodging on the shore of Lake Canadarago as well as separate hotel facilities at the Baseball Hotel, in the village limits of historic Richfield Springs.

Ella Ogarkova

  • Ella comes from Ural, Russia. She majored in crisis management. She has been in the United States for 8 years. She speaks fluent Russian and English. She is married and lives in Richfield Springs New York. This is her second year at the Lake House. Her favorite hobbies are sports. Her favorite sports are basketball and tennis. 

Karla Bayas 

  • Karla comes every summer to work as a waitress for the Lake House. She lives in Ecuador. This is the second year we have Karla with us. She grew up in New Jersey and five years ago she moved to Ecuador. She is majoring in Law and International Relations at the University of San Francisco de Quito. She will graduate in three years. She is fluent in English and Spanish. ​Her favorite hobbies are dancing and reading. 

Ronda Morrison 

  • Ronda is one of Chris' best friends.  Last summer she came to live at the Lake House to help with weekend operations. She works as a nurse for the Bassett Clinic during the week. She is from the state of Oregon but moved to Alaska and lived there for 14 years. Ronda loves Alaska and had many interesting adventures there.  She is active in our community.  She volunteers at the Richfield Springs Co-op, is the secretary for the Richfield Springs Area Chamber of Commerce and is a member of the Town of Richfield Ethics Committee.   

Sophia Bayas 

  • Sophy is the newest member of our team. She is a 19 year old psychology major that studies at Universidad Catolica de Quito. She is fluent in English and Spanish. She is currently living in Ecuador and she is coming to work with us for the summer.  Her favorite hobbies are swimming and reading. 

Patricia Lamphere 

  • Patty is the soul of the kitchen at our Lake House.She always makes sure to put a lot of care and love into everything she is preparing. "If the people are happy than I am Happy" is one of her favorite things to same when she is cooking. She graduated from SUNY Cobleskill and has a degree in Culinary Science.  Patty has worked at the Lake House on and off since the 1970's. Some of her signature and most popular dishes are the Chimichanga and Chicken Kiev.

Restaurant open Wednsday, Thursday, Friday, Saturday and Sunday at Noon til 9 PM.  Have a drink overlooking the lake, a bite to eat or a meal.  Watch the baby merganser ducks or Canadian geese goslings on the lake.  Maybe you will see the eagle that perches in the tree near the lake or watch him soar on the lake.
